About Barclays Additions Active

Mobile Phone Insurance is an inclusive benefit of your Barclays Additions Active account.

This can give your phone and SIM card cover for:

  • Loss
  • Theft
  • Accidental/malicious damage
  • Water and liquid damage
  • Electrical/mechanical breakdown
  • Unauthorised calls up to £2,000 per claim (including VAT)

The policy also covers accessories up to the value of £250 per claim (including VAT).

For full details of what is covered, please see the Policy Document. All claims are subject to a £25 excess payment for the first claim, and £50 for a second claim made in any 12-month period.

To register your mobile phone

To take advantage of this benefit, please contact Lifestyle Services Group (LSG), the people Barclays work with to provide your Mobile Phone Insurance, by:

Lines are open:

Monday to Friday 8am - 8pm
Saturday and Sunday 9am - 6pm

When registering please have the following information to hand:

  1. Your Additions Active account number and sort code
  2. The make and model of your phone
  3. Your mobile phone number
  4. Your phone’s IMEI number (this will be displayed on the phone’s screen when entering *#06# on the keypad)
  5. The code from your Additions Active welcome pack

Once you’ve successfully completed the registration process, you will receive a Certificate of Insurance in the post confirming your policy details. Your cover will commence 21 days from the date of registration.

The policy will be valid, subject to the policy terms and conditions, for as long as you have a Barclays Additions Active account and whilst the account continues to offer this insurance.

Making a claim

If something unfortunate happens to your mobile phone, please follow these simple steps:

Within 24 hours of discovering the incident:

  • For loss and theft claims, contact your network so that they can block your SIM card. Doing this will prevent any further unauthorised calls being made. Find your network contact details
  • For loss, theft and malicious damage claims, contact the Police and ask for an incident number

Within 48 hours of discovering the incident:

  • Register your claim with LSG. You can do this online or by calling the Additions Active helpline on 0800 994 422*
Monday to Friday 8am - 8pm
Saturday and Sunday 9am - 6pm
