Overview

Features & Benefits

  • Backup of your contacts and calendar entries.
  • Storage for up to 2Gb of your contacts, photos, music and videos.**
  • Secure your data if your mobile phone is lost or stolen with our remote lock, wipe and alarm features

How it works

All you need to do is download the Save What Matters™ application (or app) to your mobile phone and then follow the simple online registration process.

You can set this app to store a ‘back up’ copy of some or all of your content automatically, or you can manually create a copy whenever you like. This ‘back up’ copy is encrypted and then saved onto the secure Save What Matters™ servers. This means you can access this through the app on your mobile phone or online on the Save What Matters™ website at any time.

If you ever get a new mobile phone you can transfer all your data across to the new one by downloading the Save What Matters™ app onto your new mobile. You then just put in your details and click ‘restore’.

If you have a smart phone and lose your mobile or it’s stolen you can access the security features* on the Save What Matters™ website to:

  • track your mobile phone’s location,
  • lock it down to stop it from being used,
  • set off an alarm on the mobile phone itself, and
  • wipe all the data stored on the mobile phone.

*Subject to compatibility

How to register

Registering for Save What Matters™ is simple by following these steps:

  1. Log on to "Your Account" and go to "My Policy", then follow the link "Enter Save What Matters" and enter your details. You’ll need to enter a password so make sure it’s something that’s secure but that you can remember. You’ll be asked to enter this when you download the app to your mobile device.
  2. A text message will be sent to your mobile phone with a PIN number and a link to the mobile app.
  3. Select the link from the text message and download the app onto your mobile phone.
  4. Once the app is installed, enter the PIN number from the text and your password from step 1
It will ask you whether you want to back up via Wi-Fi or your network. This is because the app transfers data (saving your ‘back up’ copy) and using your network may cost you money, depending on your tariff. We recommend you use a trusted and secure Wi-Fi connection to do this. Whilst we don't charge for data transfers your Mobile network provider may so please check with them.
  5. Then the app will create a ‘back up’ copy of your data onto the secure Save What Matters™ servers. You can then set it to do so automatically whenever you want.
  6. You’ll get an email confirming when your first ‘back up’ copy is complete and you can log on to the Save What Matters™ website to view all your stored data.

You’ll need to have to hand:

  • Your mobile phone
  • Your mobile number
  • Your mobile phone make and model

How long will it take?

The registration process is simple and takes only a few minutes to complete. Depending on the amount of data that you’re backing up for the first time, this may take a little while – but the app will tell you how long.
