There have been reports in the press recently about the increasing problem of mobile phone theft in the UK. Last year, many thousands of phones were stolen but few were recovered and returned to their owners.
Lifestyle Services Group Limited (LSG) are supporting Immobilise. This is a joint campaign launched by the mobile phone industry and the Metropolitan Police - and it is supported by the Home Office.
In line with the Immobilise campaign, LSG is working closely with the Police and the network operators to exchange lists of lost and stolen phones. By identifying its unique IMEI number, LSG can prevent lost or stolen phones from being used in the UK.

Keep a record of your IMEI number
This is the serial number of your phone. It is found on the phone's packaging or inside the phone itself. It can also be displayed on the phone’s screen by entering *#06# on the keypad. Once you have found your IMEI number, write it down and keep it safe.
Think of your phone as you would your wallet or purse
Keep your phone with you at all times when you are out. Do not leave the phone unattended, for example, on a cafe table or bar top. Be aware of your surroundings and never invite risk to yourself or your phone.
Mark your phone
If you mark your phone with a UV security pen, detailing your house number and postcode, your phone can be returned to you by the Police if it is recovered after a loss or theft.
Set up your security PIN number
You can store a 4 digit PIN number in your phone. Once this number has been set, you will need to enter it each time you turn on the phone. Choose a PIN that only you will know and won't forget.
Please refer to your manufacturer's handbook for instructions on setting your PIN.
